Jon is originally from a small town in rural north Alabama. After graduating from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, GA in 1992 he attended Cumberland School of Law, Samford University in Birmingham, AL and in 1993 married his wife, Laurabeth. Upon receiving his J.D., he began a seven year journey from practicing as a trial attorney to the conviction that God was calling him to serve as a pastor in Christ's church. In 2002 Jon and his family moved to St. Louis to study at Covenant Theological Seminary, and in May, 2005 immediately after graduating from Covenant, Jon accepted a call to serve as an Assistant Pastor at Covenant Presbyterian Church. Jon and Laurabeth have three children, Andrew (8), Jack (7) and Chloe (6) along with an overly affectionate golden retriever.
