Membership, Christian Education & Discipleship
If you are interested in joining with us as a member of Covenant Church, the first step is to attend an Introduction to Covenant class. In this class we provide prospective members with an overview of the ministry and vision of Covenant church, and an opportunity to meet church staff and officers. The content of the class is driven by one basic question - “Who are we?” This is a question we seek to answer by reflecting together about three things which shape Covenant’s unique identity:
• Our beliefs,
• Our practices
• Our story
Participants should emerge from these discussions with a better idea of who we are, who we are striving to become and how to join with us in our journey.
Beginning Fall 2008, Covenant's new member class is being offered in conjunction with adult Sunday school. Those desiring membership should attend the firrst seven sessions of the "Rooted in Grace" discipleship class which will meet during the Sunday school hour. Following this class, new members will attend a Membership Weekend.
Attendance at the Intro to Covenant class does not obligate anyone to become a member of Covenant Church, but it is the first step toward membership. After taking the class, those who are interested in membership will have an opportunity to meet with the elders in order to join the church.
Upcoming Introduction to Covenant classes:
February 21 - March 28: Intro. to Covenant Class Led by John Pennylegion in the Library during Sunday School hour (9:45-10:45am)
If interested in attending Intro to Covenant, please contact John Pennylegion or the church office: 314-432-8700 or office@cpcstl.org
