Music Ministry

Music is a vital part of our worship and community at Covenant Presbyterian Church. Our goal is to lift up the hearts of God’s people in worship of Him.

The Choir - directed by Kathleen Chapell, rehearses on Wednesday evenings, from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. and is open to all singers from junior high up.  The goal of the Choir is to sing beautiful music, well-prepared and prayerfully offered to His glory. The Choir sings a range of styles and difficulty levels. Special services are prepared during the calendar year, including Easter, Reformation Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.  A highlight of the year is the traditional “Twilight Music,” a series of special music presentations during the Sunday evenings of Advent.  A variety of small groups (Men’s Chorus, Madrigals, etc.) are active throughout the year. Come and sing to the Lord with us!  (contact: Kathleen Chapell, Music Director—314-878-7859)

Hand Bell Choir - led by Julie Bauer, rehearses on Sunday evenings. Hand bells are a lovely and easy way to participate in worship through music.  No prior experience is necessary—Julie will teach you how to play! (contact: Julie Bauer—636-441-7467)

Praise and Worship - A small group of musicians meet regularly to play for the evening service and accompany hymns and praise songs.  (contact: Kathleen Chapell—314-878-7859)

Instrumentalists - We welcome you! We currently have a number of pianists, wind instrument players and guitarists, and we’re always looking for more musicians!  Do you play trumpet? We need you! (contact: Kathleen Chapell—314-878-7859)
